  • More evidence that society is going down the crapper.

So Bar Envy in my little town of Spring Hill, FL seems like pretty normal bar most of the time. 50 cent beers before 6pm, ladies drink free at certain times, and there are always specials on drinks coming and going. However, one thing that sets Bar Envy apart from other bars is that it has a teen night. Yes, you read that correctly. Every Sunday, a BAR has a TEEN NIGHT. A night where anyone aged 13 to 19 can enter the door. This isn't an under the table or secret thing either. There is a green van parked near the bar with a marquee on top that clearly advertises it.

Now I'm assuming alcohol is not served on these nights but are parents in this town really so stupid as to let their teens go unsupervised to bar? Alcohol or not, a bar is still a bar. This is the same venue that hosts bikini contests, wet t-shirt contests and foam parties (and believe me, as a 21 year old male, I know all about the advantages of a foam party) on the weekdays. I just can't believe that the city government would allow this, and that on top of that, parents would let their kids into a place like that.

Who the hell chooses to go to a bar where there is no drinking allowed (besides DD's, they're cool.)? Do people really need to go dance and party that badly? A six year age gap in two adults is one thing, but it is just plain wrong to provide a place where a 19 year old can meet and dance in a club/bar atmosphere with a 13 or 14 year old (on a Sunday night no less, don't they have school the next day?). And let's face it, we all know that more than just innocent dancing and chit chat go on at these types of places. I'm sorry, perhaps it was the way I was raised, but that just isn't decent or responsible.

What happened to the days when teens had house parties and sleepovers, and an exciting weekend with your friends consisted of pizza and a trip to the movie theatre? It seems like more and more kids want to grow up too quickly and be adults, which is something that I don't understand. I freaking loved being a kid. I didn't need to worry about how my hair looked or what I was wearing out to the club that night. My biggest concerns at the time were next week's geometry exam, and what video game I was going to play that weekend.

Next thing you know, they're going to start making lingerie and thongs in children's sizes.
    OH WAIT, THEY ALREADY DO

  • United breaks guitars

So Dave Carrol is a member of the Canadian band Sons of Maxwell, and in March of last year the band was traveling to Nebraska to play a show. Dave looks out his window on the airplane and notices the baggage handlers throwing around his guitar. Lo and behold, when he arrives, his $3,500 Taylor guitar is broken. Dave tries to file a complaint with the airline, but is bombarded with "I'm not the person you need to talk to"'s and "It's not my job"'s. Eventaully he's given a final reply, United will not reimburse him for the damage to his instrument.

Now Dave is pissed, and decides to write and produce music videos for 3 songs, describing how crappy United is. Hopefully this little stunt will do more than $3,500 damage to United. I'd be pissed too if this happened to me and my guitar.

So here's the first of the 3 promised music videos.

  • So I was watching this thing on Travel Channel the other day about the best places to pig out. They showed this place that serves a breakfast burrito that is literally the size of a baby. At first I thought it was cool, but then realized it was a breakfast burrito, and then my stomach started feeling bad. A large amount of rice, beans, meat, veggies, and sour cream is completely cool, but 7 pounds of bacon, eggs, and cheese just makes my heart hurt.

  • So when Carradine died, I felt bad for the guy but not really sad about it. Farrah's story was sad, but I wasn't a fan of hers to begin with. MJ hit a little hard because I grew up on his music and videos, but it wasn't too bad. I didn't care too much about Ed Mcmahon, he had a good life and was old.

BUT FUCKING BILLY MAYS? OH NO, I AM LEGITIMATELY UPSET ABOUT THIS.

  • I kind of see the appeal of Twitter. I always have problems thinking of material for a nice long update. These short ones are very nice.

Taking summer courses means you have less time to complete a full semester's worth of work. The pace can be daunting. I have an hour long drive and then a two hour long class to look foward to today. At least I get to see girlfriend.

What would you do if your 16 year old daughter got pregnant from being raped? I would support her and her baby. The baby is as innocent of his or her father's crime as any grownup son or daughter who are innocent of their parents crimes.

What would you do if your 16 year old daughter got pregnant from being raped? Stinging tears would burn me the face I had to wear for it, whatever it was...
